Sizzler Shruti has come with one more ace up her sleeve. We hear that the pretty star wants to put her fingers into the producer’s pie. She is planning to produce short films and her own music videos under her own banner Isidro.
The actress tweeted this news saying, “Proud to say my dream is coming true ISIDRO.” Making films, even short films can be quite risky business but the star has proved that she’s not just bold in her outlook to life but also bold in taking risks.
Shruti has her date book full, her upcoming films include Welcome Back, Rocky Handsome, Baadshaho and Yaara in Bollywood. Besides these, she is acting in films opposite Suriya, Vijay, Ajith and Mahesh Babu in Tamil and Telugu cinema.

The protagonist is Sasikumar and the heroine is Varalakshmi Sarathkumar.

One of the other remarkable titbits about this film is that this will be the 1000^th film that Maestro Ilayaraja is composing for. We hear he has already composed 12 songs and are sure that they are going to be absolutely amazing.

The film is almost complete and the last leg of shooting is now on in Andaman. Sasikumar had injured himself in between and this has stalled the shooting. However, now all is well and the film should soon hit the screens.

Marathi hit Poshter Boyz made waves at the B.O. and is now to be remade in Telugu. The film was a laugh riot and has many humorous dialogues. The script revolves around three men who represent different ages in a male’s evolution.

The film seems to have impressed Akshay Kumar and Rana Daggubati so much that they have both teamed up to produce it in Telugu. The original was directed by Sameer Patil but the Telugu version will be directed by Gopi Ganesh.

Plans are afoot to start shooting in September and auditions have been going on at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad. Akshay said, “Rana and I have been great friends since Baby, and he’s always told me how Telugu audiences appreciate films with good content. Hence, we decided to remake Poshter Boyz in Telugu.”

After Bahubali went on to become the highest grossing south Indian film ever by raking in over Rs.500 crore, Director S.S.Rajamouli has got back to business once more. The shooting for Bahubali 2 has already commenced. Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Ramya Krishnan, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia play important roles. Kattappa (played by Sathyaraj) is the loyal army chief of Mahishmati kingdom and he has committed to 100 days of shooting.
The story according to what’s doing the rounds on Whatsapp is that Bahubali (Prabhas) falls in love with Devasena (Anushka Shetty) and so does Bhallala Deva (Rana Daggubatti). Rajmata Shivagami (Ramya Krishnan) lays down a condition that whoever marries Devasena will have to leave the empire and stay exiled. Bahubali chooses love and decides to marry Devasena and leave the Mahishmati kingdom.

Once Bahubali leaves, the kingdom is attacked by the son of the Kalakeya King. Under this circumstance, Bahubali is forced to return to save the kingdom.

The return of Bahubali strikes fear in the heart of Bhallala Deva who fears the kingdom will be given to Bahubali. Naturally, conflict arises. However, one will have to wait and watch to see if these rumours are really true.

Simbu’s Vaalu had been in the making for too long and faced many hurdles before making it to the screen. However, the masala potboiler has raked in the big bucks making Simbu smile again. The waiting period has been traumatic in more ways than one. Besides his professional setback, he also lost his ladylove Hansika during the period.

Simbu is now working with Gautham Menon in Acham Enbathu Madamaiyada. The director revealed that the story was inspired by a line from the famous Mario Puzo novel Godfather. However, this is not the first time a film has been inspired by this novel. God Father has already been adapted as a Hollywood film by director Francis Coppola. Closer home, Mani Ratnam’s Nayagan, Selvaraghavan’s Pudupettai and others have drawn inspiration from it too.

The heroine is Manjima and a good performer. Music is by AR Rahman. The film sure looks like it’s going to rock. Interestingly, he film is simultaneously being shot with actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya in Telugu.

Shamilee has been cast opposite Vikram Prabhu in Veera Sivaji, a comedy-action thriller. The film is to be directed by Ganesh Vinayak, who earlier directed Thagaraaru. Veera Sivaji will also have a second female lead, which will be played by newbie Swetha Ashok.
The technical crew comprises cinematographer Sukumar, editor Ruben and art director Ilayaraja. The pre-production work is on and plans are afoot to start shooting from the second week of September at Pondicherry.

Megastar Chiranjeevi has been out of the big screen circuit for the past eight years much to the disappointment of his scores of fans. His recent announcement that he would be commencing his 150th film cheered them up. Titled Konidela which is one of the names of Hanuman and is also Chiranjeevi’s family’s ancestral name, it holds a lot of sentimental value.

His son Ram Charan will be making his debut as a producer. Chiranjeevi has been looking at various scripts but has not yet narrowed down on any one. Meanwhile leading directors are also queuing up and vying with each other to get an opportunity to direct this film.

One more interesting titbit is that besides Ram Charan who will be performing a dance number in the film, other members of the family Pawan Kalyan and Allu Arjun will play roles too. The film will be completed in six months once shooting starts. Ram Charan hopes to get it released by summer 2016.

India has recently been in the news for the spate of rapes. Now a Tollywood film-maker has decided to make this the subject of his film and made a hard hitting one. The director NVB.Chowdhary has done plenty of research and come up with a script that includes real life rape incidents.

We hear that the director had shot over 40 rape scenes that depict the depraved mind and brutality of the protagonist. The Censor Board  was not happy and we hear has trimmed  around 30 of those scenes. Starring in this dark thriller are Jwala Koti, Yamini Bhaskar, Raghu Babu and Giri Babu.

While everyone remains shell-shocked by the amount of obscenity, the director feels that this is necessary to show the impact of rape. The film seems to be based on a real life rapist who has raped over 300 women in Nagpur.

Chimbu Devan was looking for someone to dub for Sridevi. One hearing this, the star volunteered to do it. The dubbing was wrapped in just two days. That’s when she realised that many of her scenes had been chopped at the editing table. This left her quite peeved. With the release of Puli just a few weeks away on October 2^nd, we hear rumours that she has even demanded Rs. 1 crore extra as payment.

Arvind Swami- Jayam Ravi starrer Thani Oruvan ran to packed houses. The film touted as Arvind Swami’s comeback film in Tamil had his fans raving about his performance and asking for more. He played the suave, white-collared villain who is the kingpin behind many horrendous crimes.

Thani Oruvan had collected Rs 1.28 crore in the opening weekend in Chennai, making it the 2^nd highest grosser after Baahubali which collected Rs 1.66 crore. The movie was released on the 28^th of August and the 10 day collections were around 40 Crore at the global box office.

Thani Oruvan II we hear may be either be a sequel or a prequel. It could focus on the protagonist Mithran and his dream of becoming a cop if it’s a prequel. Though Thani Oruvan II has not been confirmed officially, we are sure that the makers are dreaming up something really big.

Director Manikantan made the world sit up and take notice with his sensitive film Kaaka Muttai. Naturally, his second one Kutramey Thandanai was much anticipated. Going by the reaction of a 100 strong audience who watched the crime thriller at a preview recently, it has passed the muster with flying colours. The audience was totally enthralled and clapped loudly at the end of the screening at Phoenix Mall, Mumbai.

Vidharth and Pooja Devariya play the leads and veteran actor Nasser has an important role too. The film’s big plus is the background score by Maestro Ilayaraja.

.Director Manikantan says the film is very different from his first, “ I wanted to break that image that Kaaka Muttai gave me. I feel a filmmaker should explore and not stick to a similar pattern of film-making. We completed it in 34 days.”

The director meanwhile is not taking a breather. He has started getting busy with the pre-production of his next with Vijay Sethupathi.
